Injinji Outdoor Quarter Crew Sock

rated 4 of 5 stars Solves problems with toe blisters I am very blister prone in between my 3rd and 4th toes on both my feet, but especially my right foot. I always hike in shoes with a large toe box, but usually after about six hiking days I start to get blisters. I've tried taping, vaseline and all the usual remedies - even tried to "train" my toes to separate with this strange device I wore around the house for a week or two. In preparation for a long hike last summer, I was just figuring I would deal with the usual… Full review

Fox River Pioneer Crew Socks

rated 5 of 5 stars These socks dry quickly and offer great comfort at a reasonable price. You can purchase three pairs of these for the price of other brands. I love these socks. They fit well and wear like iron. They are easy to care for also. Just throw them in regular cold wash and you are all set. They hold up well in the dryer also. I brought a three pack of these socks and they cost about the same as other brands at one sock. I have had the socks, three pack, and have hiked a gazillion miles and they still look… Full review

Darn Tough Merino Micro Crew Sock Cushion

rated 5 of 5 stars These are the best hiking socks! After talking to some salespeople in the store I went ahead and bought two pairs last year and they are still the two pair I bring with me on my backpacking trips. I bought these expensive hiking socks after talking to a few people in the store about hiking socks. They said these were the best and they weren't kidding. They are very comfortable, not too thin and not too thick. They don't create friction in my hiking boots so no blisters. They dry out pretty quickly… Full review

Darn Tough Merino Micro Crew Sock Cushion

rated 5 of 5 stars The best day-hiking socks. Durable, good cushion, good wicking. Summary - These are a very durable sock that have lasted through many day hikes, around town and in winter. It's my "go-to" sock for any day hikes or walking around town when the temp is 25 - 75 degrees. Function - Merino wool is great, warm when it's a bit chilly, but not too hot when it is warm out. On long car camping trips, I have rinsed these socks out and used them a second day, no problem. The merino wool blend easily cleans up… Full review

Farm to Feet Women's Franklin Camp Crew Everyday

rated 5 of 5 stars The absolute best for light hiking! These truly seamless socks are all about perfect fit, warmth, and quality. Snug, but not too tight to leave compression marks. Ideal weight and thickness. Feels like a second skin on your feet. On top of all its practical qualities and great workmanship, the design is equally appealing! Made in USA. Too early to tell about wear and tear but the company's "guaranteed for life" policy is one of the best out there. Full review

Thorlo Trekking Sock - Thick Cushion Crew

rated 5 of 5 stars Best sock for summer backpacking — great cushion without heat of wool. Pair on right is inside out — shows cushion under heel and ball of foot. This is my go-to sock for backpacking, no questions about it. The thick sock provides added cushion that greatly reduces feet fatigue, especially when there are long descents or rocky terrain. Before using these socks, my feet were always fatigued by mid-day, after just 5-10 miles through mountain or desert terrain with a 35-55 lb. pack. I use a liner… Full review

Smartwool Mountaineering Extra Heavy Crew

rated 4 of 5 stars Proper socks for cold weather activities. They offer good insulation and comfort. In case of very low temperatures, a very thin liner can be used. They are bulky so make sure they fit in your boots without restricting your blood circulation. The only complaint is they really get loose after some usage, but that's a natural feature of wool. Darn Tough Hiker 1/4 Sock Cushion

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a good everyday sock or strictly for hiking. I would recommend this product to everybody that is active or wears socks out fast. I wear a size 12 mens. This was the upper limit in their large size. The assistant online told me to stay with the large. This size fit my feet perfect. There was a little slip in my shoes wearing them the first time, but they quickly broke in to fit as good as my FITS socks. The comfort is as good as you would expect. There is no slip on your foot once they are… Full review

Point6 Hiking Tech Extra Light Mini Crew

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Thicker-than-normal, extra lightweight merino wool socks that perform well in warm weather, particularly with low-cut trail or approach shoes. Inconsistencies with cuff height exist. I previously reviewed the Point6 Hiking Tech Medium Mini Crew. Readers will notice many similarities in these two reviews, but I felt the need to make product reviews available for each specific product, especially with the differences in cuff height and cushioning.  This pair was purchased at the same time as the… Full review
