This tent is the ultimate tent for all conditions. Rain, snow, sleet or hail. I experienced 2 of these condtions in Yellowstone this August. The tent was bomber. It rained and hailed for at least 2 hours on our tent. There was a flood though our vestible. But the bath tub floor design kept all flood waters at bay. The most amazing thing is the lack of seam sealer. Yes, no seam sealing and there are no taped seams in the whole tent. Figure it out. I can't. Petra (President of Hilleberg USA) will have to explain her father's engineering of the tent. There was condensation but it never reached the interior because the tent body clips in to the rain fly. Leaving about 4 inches of space between the fly and canopy. This makes for easy cleaning and wiping off of condesation. There are huge vents in the ends of tent which have many configurations. Lots of goodies on Hilleberg tents.
I camped for 7 days in Yellowstone in with this tent. No problems to report.
I do wish that I had more head room. But you must remember that this tent can be configured to give you more room to cook, clean and even hang your stinky socks. Great design. I have tried the 1998 Meteor Light from SD but the condensation is all over you by morning if you close the front door. You get what you pay for. Before I ordered the tent I asked too many questions of Petra and she answered my e-mail prompty. You may pay more for a Hilleberg but you get a tent you will never wear out.
If you would like to see my tent in person I live in Denver, CO, USA please email me.
