Black Diamond Men's Hot Forge Hybrid Hoody

rated 5 of 5 stars Outstanding lightweight, comfortable, and versatile jacket, copes with a range of weather conditions and still performs when damp. High quality materials and workmanship. Great fit, very comfortable with soft material around the neck. Best to get a size larger than normal though, which helps with layering. Hood can go under a helmet, but despite that is not bulky without one and tightens down efficiently to a snug fit. Can serve really well as an outer layer in moderately cool conditions and a mid… Full review

LightHeart Gear Rain Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars No more wetting out. This jacket weighs about 7 ounces and comes with a brimmed hood, front zipper, and armpit zippers. Depending on color choice it is made from sil nylon or polyurethane treated sil nylon. There are elastics in the sleeves and a pull cord in the waist to help with a snug fit. Breathable rain gear sometimes wets out and doesn't always vent enough to keep the sweat from building up. This jacket gives up on breathability, other than the zippered armpits, and focuses on a very… Full review

Mountain Equipment Men's Aeon Jacket

rated 3 of 5 stars Lightweight packable rain jacket. Good for the occasional shower but not so good in prolonged rain because of limited breathability. The Mountain Equipment Aeon is a light rainjacket. It has an adjustable peaked hood, elevated side pockets, a small chest pocket, and underarm ventilation zips (pit zips). The hood is adjustable in the normal way with two pull cords in front and one at the back. The front cords come out below the collar so the wind can’t whip the ends into your face. The only downside… Full review

Showers Pass Syncline Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Keeps you dry! This jacket has great long sleeves that don't fall short when on the bike. The longer tail keep your backside free of muddy splashes. The pit zips are easily managed while riding with great zipper pulls. The jacket is designed to wear the hood under the helmet and that will take some getting used to. Kept me dry in light rain. Light and packable. Can't wait to put it to a tougher test! Disclosure: I received a sample of this product to test as a member of TheDyrt.com Ranger program. Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Whirlwind Hoody

rated 4.5 of 5 stars If a softshell and wind jacket mated this would be their offspring—a well-constructed piece that excels in certain conditions. I'd been looking for an in-between piece that would cut the chill from the wind but still have some breathability on the trail when a fleece would be overkill. As an Outdoor Research fan I jumped at the Whirlwind Hoody when it was offered on their site for 50% off despite not seeing a lot of info on it. Big score. It's usually the first thing I pull from my pack and I… Full review

The North Face Men's Denali Hoodie

rated 5 of 5 stars There is a strong reason why everyone has one of these jackets either hooded or the jacket. Perfect for mild winter days, transition from winter to spring, fall to winter, and rainy days. This is by far the best versatile jacket you could buy. Since I have both a hooded and non-hooded version, both reviews are the same. I first wanted a Denali ever since I was little, but my parents said it was too expensive for a silly fleece. Let me tell you, it’s not a silly $99 or $200 fleece. I was able to… Full review

prAna Lasser Jacket

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Good insulation with this 600 power fill down. Good insulation with this 600 power fill down. Use it in winter for common work days on temperatures arround 8 to 15 c°. Fit is a bit loose, but very comfortable. Enough DWR to use it in a not-too-rainy city. Just one thing I dislike is that it gets very dirty on borders and edges. After a while it is impossible to really clean it. Full review

Black Diamond Women's First Light Hoody

rated 3.5 of 5 stars The Black Diamond First Light Hoody keeps me warm and toasty in the great outdoors. However, the PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Active synthetic insulation lacks the snuggly comfort of down and even some other PrimaLoft jackets I've worn. For this reason, it doesn’t always make the cut when I’m packing my bag for a full day outdoor adventure. Testing Conditions I tested the Black Diamond First Light from late January through April as a member of the Trailspace Review Corps. I wore the First Light… Full review

MontBell Men's Chameece Inner Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A very nice lightweight fleece garment. I'm a big fan of lightweight fleece garments. They breathe well, are warm (even damp), dry quickly (can be wrung out if necessary), and are relatively inexpensive. When I'm on the move and need a mid-layer to warm up, it's extremely tough to beat a lightweight fleece—especially in damp conditions. The Montbell Chameece Jacket is one of the lightest fleece jackets I've found—8.6 oz in Men's Large. Full zip w/ one zipped upper chest pocket. You can save… Full review
