EMS Men's Feather Pack 800 Hooded

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Nice jacket, solid construction, good fill on the down. Got mine on sale on a Black Friday doorbuster so the price can't be beat. Large inside vest pocket for self packing is nice for keeping largish items warm - I like to go out and get a burger at Five Guys when walking my dog and then take it home for dinner (dog and burger). Also has a drawstring to keep air seal around waist/hips. I could quible about lack of a drawstring on the hood, but many jacket don't have that either. Haven't yet taken… Full review

L.L.Bean Men's Trail Model Fleece Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a review of the Hunter Orange version of the basic fleece jacket, which has held up very well for two years (and counting). Its bright orange color was specifically selected for hunting season safety, but the jacket itself has been a very good, solid addition to our outerwear collection. It is suitable for three-season use, or under a shell for winter use. (Note: Though I have been selected as an LL Bean gear tester, I have yet to receive any product to test, and this jacket was purchased… Full review

Patagonia Women's Nano-Air Hoody

rated 3 of 5 stars I love how comfy and versatile this jacket is, but hate how poorly it has held up. This jacket is super comfy, both for hiking and skiing as well as lounging at home. It is the warm layer that I always want to wear. I bought it to replace a light down jacket and have found that it is closer in warmth to my Patagonia R2 Jacket and that I choose one or the other for outdoor excursions. I think that the biggest bonus over an R2 is that it moves more moisture away from my back so I'm not quite as cold… Full review

Columbia Men's EvaPOURation Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars Lightweight rain jacket. Basic rain protection, but not so breathable and wicking as described by manufacturer. A lightweight rain jacket, also packable, you can just pull it out in your pack when downpour strikes. Its waterproof fabric will keep you dry but offers less breathability. Over time you will be soaked in sweat. You can wear a wicking shirt inside for comfort, wicking is not that good as advertised. I've been using it for almost 6 months and it's doing pretty well and beside as a raincoat… Full review

Mountain Equipment Women's Eclipse Inferno Jacket

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Light, warm, highly breathable, good fit—a good piece of gear! This jacket is, for me, a revolution in fleece technology. The small fleece panels makes the jacket breathe extremely well, and keeps you warm at the same time. The fit is a little long, and the high collar fits tight, so that no warmth is lost. The jacket has a weird feature though; the front full zip is not centered, but slightly to the right side of the torso. That means that it looks nice and eccentric when closed, but a little… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Dynotherm Down Hooded Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Great all around jacket, lightweight and waterproof. Keeps me warm and cozy while out hiking on the back trails of North Carolina. Fits very well and moves with my body. Camping in 24 degree weather with a fairly good frost by morning, keeps me warm and kept the wind at bay. I would recommend to anyone in need of a great jacket. Full review

MontBell EX Light Down Anorak

rated 5 of 5 stars Super light at only 180g for a men's large. With 900 FP down it is also very warm. Very packable, compresses to the size of a softball. Gives me the opportunity to leave much heavier mid layers at home. Fit and comfort are great, half zipper allows easy putting on and taking off. Elastic on cuffs and drawstring on the waist keeps the cold drafts out. There is no drawstring on the hood, but it is well fitting and keeps the warmth in. A bit pricey, but aren't all lightweight packable down jackets? Full review

Patagonia Foamback Mountain Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars This was a great jacket in its time, worked well as rain gear, and had one of the best designed hoods compared to the small number of jackets that were available. I purchased this jacket back around 1974 or '75 and it was my first real piece of outdoor rain gear that I used during my early years of climbing and hiking in Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and east side of the Sierras. When I first purchased this jacket my only other real outdoor specific jacket had been a Sierra Designs 60/40 parka that served… Full review

Haglofs LIM Ultimate Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Really high quality and light running jacket. Can be used for other things, but it is sized in a way that may be uncomfortable to wear additional layers underneath. A very lightweight jacket that is waterproof. Comfortable, but as the other reviewer said the cut is a bit specific for running. Short, but would also be uncomfortable for additional layers underneath if going alpine climbing for instance.  The hood is adjustable with a drawcord on the back so it can be made snug. There are also thumb… Full review
