User Review: JanSport Men's Orb Jacket

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Fabric: nylon
Fill: 550 down
Price Paid: $60

Filled with a lower grade down, this jacket is not quite as lightweight and compressible as the $200 and up competitors, but it is still very warm, well constructed, good looking, and to top it all off - inexpensive!

When working as a snowmaker at a ski resort this winter I had to quit wearing mine because it was TOO warm. It is better suited for low-exertion, such as a "belay" jacket or for hanging around camp, sitting in your tent, or sitting at a football game. It will keep you warm. When combined with a lightweight waterproof shell (I use the Red Ledge Thunderlight over it), it is even warmer and then you can safely wear it in the wettest snowfall or freezing rain too.

I bought the ladies version for my fiancee, she loves it and looks really cute in it.

If you have money to burn, then get the TNF Nuptse or Mountain Hardwear, etc. For those who need to balance price with performance, get this one - you will be satisfied and warm.
