Sea Eagle Explorer 380x Pro Package

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Extremely versatile, portable, easy to use "water SUV" that is perfect for any type of adventure one could imagine. This review is for the Sea Eagle Explorer 380X Pro package. The major difference between Pro and Deluxe is the seats: I like Pro seats much better but for more information look it up at the manufacturer website. I've been using this kayak for three seasons now and the fourth season is approaching. The quality of the kayak itself is fairly good: the body/hull is intact and holds up… Full review

Ocean Kayak Yak Board

rated 4 of 5 stars A short, wide sit-on-top kayak that is very stable, turns on a dime, and is easy to transport and carry. Designed for surf, it is a fine fishing platform. The rugged build of this short and wide surfing kayak provides a go-anywhere platform for out of the way fishing spots. I have bashed rocks, floated through flooded timber, and explored small streams in the search for seldom fished waters around the Chicago area. Over time I have added anchor trolleys on each side allowing two anchors to hold… Full review

Pelican International Intrepid 100x

rated 4 of 5 stars Great beginners kayak. The twin arch multichine hull is very stable, you would have to try hard to tip it. After reading all the great reviews of the Trailblazer 100 at Dicks, I was sold on Pelican. I had to call Pelican customer service to find out what hull was on that boat. Almost every review talked about the stability. I confirmed with Pelican that is had the twin arch multichine hull. She told me the Liberty, Trailblazer, Intrepid, Shoal, and Bounty all have the same hull. After seeing the… Full review

Perception Carolina 12

rated 4 of 5 stars I had only kayaked a few times, but was very interested in becoming a regular kayaker. However, I was on a budget. I did a fair amount of research when looking for a kayak, and a 12' kayak was suggested by a family member who teaches kayaking, because of ease in loading on and off of vehicle, and ease of navigating in creeks, marshes and smaller spaces. It was also recommended that I get a kayak with closed compartments so if I took in water it wouldn't sink. The Perception Caroline 12 has all this. Full review

Necky Eliza 15 with Rudder

rated 5 of 5 stars The Eliza is a sea kayak well-suited to women and men who are from small to moderate size. My Eliza fits me like a good shoe. Very responsive and stable! The Necky Eliza was designed to suit women paddlers, but it also suits men and teenagers. The people it doesn't suit are taller than 5'9" with big broad shoulders. The Eliza fits me perfectly at 5'1" — at 160 pounds, I'm at the top of the recommended weight for this model. Though I am stocky and plump, I can get into the cockpit easily onshore… Full review

Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Expedition Kayak

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the gold standard for inflatable folding kayaks. The Expedition is so portable I have taken it on airplanes as an ordinary checked bag. On the water, this recreational kayak handles well and has way more glide per stroke than the smaller models from the same manufacturer. The materials are tough and well-made. I am delighted with my Expedition. I have used it for more than four years and it is still going strong. The boat is very well-constructed of tough materials. The outer hull shows… Full review

Jackson Kayaks Mini Tripper

rated 4 of 5 stars This is an excellent little recreational kayak for kids, teens, and small women. It's good for flat water and for fishing. Light enough for small people to carry to the water, it's still well-made of tough plastic. This handy little recreational kayak was the prize I won at a paddle festival. What a pleasure the Mini-Tripper was to paddle! I used it for a year, and it's now owned by the teenage children of a friend. I was not the person it was designed for, yet it still worked fine for me. At… Full review

Advanced Elements Lagoon1

rated 5 of 5 stars This inflatable folding kayak is portable on buses and inside SmartCars and by small people. A very dependable recreational kayak, well-made with a terrific warranty. Available from the manufacturer, some stores, and West Marine stores and website. The Lagoon is my favourite kayak of the several different boats I own. I've used an older version of the Lagoon for eight years without it failing. It's still a reliable, convenient recreational kayak. Here's a photo of me using it for the first time,… Full review

Perception Sound 10.5 Angler

rated 4 of 5 stars Very responsive, quick, stable, and a good workhorse for recreation, workouts, and fishing. In a 3.4-mile trek, average speed was 3.0 and a top speed of 8.5 during an anaerobic workout. Handles well in wind and waves. Good for large paddlers. The kayak's cockpit is roomy, even for a large person. A little more space than the Pungo 120 or 140. The seat and peddles need to be adjusted before you get in. I read reviews that complained about the 10.5 in wind and wave conditions. In 10-15 mph winds and… Full review
