User Review: Kelty Grand Teton 2.0
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $125
Decent tent before I switched to hammock hanging.
- Easy setup
- Weight (5lb)
- Small vestibule
- Not a hammock
At 5lbs, the Grand Tenton II is heavier than many tents, but I wanted the extra room to spread out. Previously, I spent a rainy week in a 1-man tent, and I was miserable. The GTII solved this dilemma.
The vestibule is way too small. I can put my shoes and a few items in it, but there is no room for my pack. I ended up bringing my pack into the tent and putting my feet on top of it (nice trick when you're using a short sleeping pad in cold temps).
It's easy to set up. With the footprint (not included), it pitches tautly enough that I don't need stakes, except in high winds.
