Me and my Kelty Tundra +15 have been through a lot together, from three thunderstorms (two spent in a leaky tent, one out in the open on the top of a mountain), a nor-easter (for those of you not from the east coast, a nor-easter is a deadly combo of blistering rain, biting cold, and gusting wind), and calm summer days.
Let me say that in a good tent that keeps the rain out, it will keep you warm when you are dry, although when the temps start dipping into the teens I have to put on some extra clothes to sleep in, though maybe that's just because i'm not used to cold, being from Virginia Beach. As for when it's wet, it loses a LOT of effectiveness when it gets wet. The night that I spent in a thunderstorm in a leaky tent, I was miserable sleeping in a puddle. It might have worked a little better if I hadn't forgotten my sleeping pad. I don't know. All I know is, when this thing gets wet, it loses ALL of its warmth.
WHY DOESN'T MSR MAKE SLEEPING BAGS?
