Spyderco Vallotton Sub-Hilt Folder

rated 5 of 5 stars Simply put, beautiful. This knife is well elegant! They used the finest materials and the fit and finish are what you would expect in a custom. It's almost hard to use this knife because of its beauty. I had the pleasure of owning this knife for awhile before I hit financial problems and I will buy it again! If you're on the fence about this one, just buy it. It really is worth every penny and you can always put it up for sale on the secondary market and it will be snatched up. Just keep the box… Full review

Buck Omni Hunter

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the knife you want for all the kinds of work you hesitate to use your fancy cutlery for. A very wide blade with a good hollow grind leaving a very substantial spine. A comfortable handle long enough to keep your hand safe while you use a club to pound the blade through kindling. A decent if unlovely sheath. A good edge that's easily restored. What more could you want? I can't comment on its suitability for skinning game animals, but I have beaten and pried and twisted this blade shamelessly,… Full review

Petzl Spatha

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A great little knife, that will take a bite out of your salami, but not out of your pocketbook. A few years back, I was looking for a decent lightweight knife for my hiking ditty bag. But the top rated knives were really expensive, some in excess of a hundred bucks! Though I like quality, I'm also frugal (or cheap, depending on how you want to look at it). When this knife came out, it got great reviews, so I picked one up. When this knife was first released, it came in two models: a longer straight-edged… Full review

Emmrod Packrod

rated 4.5 of 5 stars My goal was to find a fishing rod that was packable, lightweight, functional, and durable. Emmrod delivered! This company started out with an eye towards providing kayakers and canoeists with a way to fish without having to deal with an awkward and cumbersome full-sized rod. They provide a number of configurations for virtually any type of reel and rods ranging from fly rods all the way up to heavy duty rods, all of which are made from stainless steel with a set of coils midway down the length of… Full review

Gerber Mini Covert FAST

rated 5 of 5 stars As a modern version of the fixed blade Fairburn knife of WW II, it is an excellent tactical knife. It may not be viewed well in NJ and other "non-stiletto" states, however. As a folder, it is well made and often used by the military. This is not a toy. This is a tactical combat knife with a real backstory. Those who remember WW II and the fixed blade version of the tiny stiletto designed for the military recognize this as its modern cousin. It is a durable blade. Most users strop their blades, but… Full review

Wetterlings Scandinavian Forest Axe

rated 5 of 5 stars EASE OF USE: This is a very capable axe, and in the hands of someone who is comfortable and confident using it, there is little it cannot do. The blade shape is perfect for a variety of tasks, from chopping to splitting, and it comes with such a razor sharp edge, you can even make feather sticks with it. FEATURES: The 26-inch handle has incredibly consistent grain structure, and in exactly the right direction. The head is not actually held on with a metal pin, as the above picture shows, and is… Full review

Leatherman Juice C2

rated 5 of 5 stars This guy is part of my survival key chain. It has a lot of great quality tools, but the cork remover could use work. There is mine along with my other emergency toys. I just clip it in a pack or my pocket and I'm ready to go. This little Juice C2 expands my capabilities while also leaving me the option to leave it behind to shed weight or to free up some space. Done again, I'd get one with no corkscrew and had something else fill that gap. Full review

Victorinox Swiss Army Signature

rated 5 of 5 stars I grabbed this little guy to fill in a few of the tools the Farmer didn't have. Also it's just a nice handy little knife. You can see mine here on my Keychain of survival. My Farmer was missing a few items like a file, toothpick, tweezers, and scissors so I grabbed this little guy to fill those gaps. I love the setup. I got all I could need and nothing more. I can walk out of the house and take on almost any task that may come my way. Full review

Winkler II SAYOC

rated 5 of 5 stars Daniel Winkler is one of the finest knife and tomahawk maker in the world. A custom piece is, I believe, a 10-year wait and lots of cash. His Winkler II line was to provide a more affordable way for people to get his knives and hawks into the public's hands. Daniel Winkler is an ABS cert mastersmith. If you have seen "Last of The Mohicans" you have seen some of his hawks and knives. Each item that leaves his shop is inspected twice and is signed off on and you're provided with this paperwork. His… Full review
