These are a very badly designed pair of boots. They look O.K. in the catalogue; but are truly painful. The collar of the boot contains a stiff plastic that digs into the leg in a most uncomfortable way. In addition it actually hurts your hands to pull the laces tight. I believe that L.L. Bean has discontinued this model; but if not, DO NOT BUY THEM! To give L.L. Bean proper credit, however, I must mention that they were extremely cooperative about reimbursement for a return and even paying the shipping costs.
