Purple Rain Adventure Dress

The Adventure Dress's weight-to-coverage and comfort are the best of all skirt or dress options for walking, hiking, backpacking, driving, around the house, and everyday wear. Not much I can add to Twig’s superb detailed review. Mandy Bland’s dress design is suited for hiking, backpacking, travel, and so many other uses. Weight is 188g (6.6 oz) for XL and 200g (7 oz) For XXL. Hangs well from shoulder-to-hem Comfortable movement Wear with or without t-shirt Overall excellent for hiking &… Full review

Macabi Skirt

The knee length skirt seems to be nice, but I never got to actually wear it because the sizing chart is way off. I usually wear between a medium and large pant, and the large skirt was much too tight in the waist. Customer service is not great (I repeatedly asked about getting return shipping covered due to the inaccurate size chart, and the person I was corresponding with never responded), so I decided to take my business elsewhere and went with a Houdini skirt instead.  Full review

Macabi Skirt

Great skirt to walk in. Lighter weight—I wear leggings/tights in winter. Wonderful material! Never had a skirt like this before. I love skirts no matter the activity, and these skirts are just awesome! Best I've ever had!! LOL I feel "fancy" just collecting chicken eggs wearing one. I'm older and I don't like traveling to yoga class w/just yoga pants, this skirt goes right over them. So much more comfortable than jeans and shorts. LOVE. Full review

Purple Rain Adventure Dress

A Purple Rain Adventure Dress is a nearly perfect hiking garment, especially for hot, muggy, and shaded conditions such as those found on the Appalachian Trail. I wore mine continuously for my AT thru-hike. I prized it for its supreme ventilation, simplicity, functionality, durability, comfort, and quick-drying materials. The side-pockets were perfect for carrying my phone, snacks, toiletries, and a myriad of other things. I never thought I'd find a more comfortable piece of clothing than a Purple… Full review

Mountain Equipment Dynamo Skort

Hike, run, move through the mountains—the Dynamo Skort is a well-made, durable, all-around mountain skirt. Its soft shell fabric stretches and keeps you covered, and is also extremely abrasion resistant and fast drying. If you want a skirt solely for running, you can pick a model with longer side slits designed specifically for that movement. But otherwise the Dynamo is a versatile, high-performing, technical skort, and will meet your outdoorsy needs on those days when you just want to pull on… Full review

Macabi Skirt

Most practical skirt for hiking. I own two of the original skirts that I used exclusively on the Camino in 2018. Highly recommend. SO comfortable and extremely practical. I'm ordering a short black version to help me through the heat this summer. AND—they're having a sale through this weekend. Now is the time to buy—or to get on the mailing list for notifications of future sales! Full review

Patagonia Edge Win Skirt

Super comfortable men's or women's walking skirt. Great men's or women's walking skirt, especially nice for men. Wear skirt size XL, which weighs 192g (6.7 oz) and has a 44.5 cm (17.5 in) side seam. Am 6'2", 225 lbs., pants size 38" / 32". When resting on my hips where I normally wear my pants, skirt is about 7.5 cm (3 in) above my knee—just right for striding. The TENCEL fabric feels great. Material is super soft, moves well with motion, and hangs nicely. Been wearing the skirt during morning… Full review

Zpacks Rain Kilt

A Zpacks Rain Kilt is a great way to shave weight and still protect your lower half from getting drenched. It is a very simple, compact, ultralight garment with multi-use functions. Specifications: Regular Waist: 1.9 oz (54 g) / Fits up to 38" (97 cm) Large Waist: 2.1 oz (60 g) / Fits up to 50" (127 cm) Length: 27" (68 cm) Width when opened flat: 52" (132 cm) About rain skirts/wraps/kilts: This idea probably took hold when someone figured out that wearing a trash bag was far cheaper and more comfortable… Full review

Purple Rain Adventure Skirt

The Purple Rain Adventure Skirt has become one of my all-time favorite pieces of clothing for its functionality, versatility, comfort, and durability. What sets it apart from all other hiking skirts are the functional cargo pockets and a stretchy yoga-style waist band. It is the kind of garment you can eat, sleep, bathe, swim and walk thousands of miles in, never once having needed to take it off. This versatility makes it an ideal candidate for long-distance hiking and other endurance activities. Full review
