Not cheap, but you will have a first class flashlight for life.

- Not cheap, but if you are really going to use it, it's worth it.
- Another (lower) power setting would be plenty for inside the house, and would get more hours from the batteries.
- The pouch it came with, it's too tight/useless for me.
I've used it regularly for at least two years now. Tough cylinder of aluminum, it resists anything that you (your kids, dog, or car) can do to it. The lens is kind of plastic and recessed, so it won't break if the torch tumbles down the mountain. It even resists operating its switch under water for some minutes... though the maker only calls it "weather/splash resistant".
The "little flashlights just in case" are almost free. But if you want one that you can count on and depend on for the rest of your life, this is it. Those batteries 4xAAA can be found, paid, and carried most easily. All the promises of the manufacturer are fulfilled. Clear, even beam. The widest around, so at any-metres away you flood with light a circle slightly bigger than those metres; like: the whole garage from the door. And for this pocket-sized torch, I enjoy again and again eliciting "wows!" and "OMGs" from people when I prove them that (at night) it can show you whether there is somebody in that balcony 260 metres (850 ft) away!! (I work in knowing how to precisely measure that.)
It almost "over-performs"! The battery life is fine, but even the lowest of the three power settings is a little too bright for looking under the car, behind the sofa, etc. My Led Lenser P2, and my Petzl Tikka XP and Pixa 3 get almost a whole summer of light from their batteries when I only need them to light inside the tent, or if working inside the closet of the electric system.

Great flashlight, when it works, but it has quality issues and it does not support rechargable batteries. Not for daily use.

Great flashlight, when it works, but after 3 years it started flickering and now, after 5 years it stopped working altogether. The battery holder is sort of falling apart, the contacts in it are corroded, the on/off selection button is having troubles. Oh, it has no usb recharging possibility, but it also does not support recharcheable batteries. I don't mind taking the batteries out and recharching them, but not even that is possible. So it is not suitable for daily useage.
