User Review: Leki Vario XS
Price Paid: £12
Although these are children's poles, I have discovered they are fine for me - a 5ft, 1 inch woman. They are light and slim and seem to be strong enough for mountainous terrain in Snowdonia. I use them for hiking, not Nordic Walking
They take up less room than the adult poles, can be put away quickly for a scramble, and they can be moved to a good choice of lengths.
Although they have one joint, not two, I don't think they are as easy to manipulate (they have to be twisted both clockwise and anticlockwise to release), as my Makalu pair, which look more robust, but I have no evidence that the Vario not as strong as the adult poles.
These are the ones I tend to use most often now. I like the red colour too.
