Rating: ![]()
Materials: split leather, Cordura, gore-tex liner
Use: lightweight backpacking, day hikes
Break-in Period: almost none
Weight: size 8.5, 2.5 pounds/pair
Price Paid: $119 on sale
First of all, this is NOT a "heavy duty leather boot", nor is it insulated, as sometimes thought. It's a lightweight (my 8.5's are 2.5lbs) fabric-and-split-leather boot. I've found them very good for backpacking with loads up to 35lb or so, including off-trail. They're flexible, so not that good if kicking steps in snow is required. I've bought several pairs, and would again. Superfeet footbeds are an improvement over the ones provided.
