User Review: Lowa Mega Camp

Rating: rated 4.5 of 5 stars

Summary

A comfortable right out-of-the box, tall all leather boot with plush leather lining. They don't make them like these anymore.

Pros

  • Supportive
  • All leather
  • Comfortable

Cons

  • Rand detaching
  • Only 9 inches tall

Bought these as my new all leather, work/hike go everywhere boot. Use it both for winter, summer and everything in between. Breathes great like a good leather boot should.

Was hoping to get another 5 years out of them like my last all leather boots but the rand started detaching after a few months and the leather cracked open around the toe area after 6 months. Used Obenauf's on them every few weeks but didn't stop the leather from cracking. Think this had more to do with how long the boots were on the shelf and they were all dried by the time I got them.

It is getting very hard to find tall leather boots without a "water-proof" lining these days and the Mega Camp fits the bill. All in all I would get another pair. Just check how long they've been sitting on the shelf for.
