This pack has been wonderful. I bought this pack primarily for shorter day hikes and trail runs but it has proven extremely durable, functional and (gasp...) stylish. It has replaced my North Face pack for climbing excursions, snowshoe trips and even throwing my dayplanner and other work essentials in.
The fit on this pack is killer. The zippers and pulls are really heavy duty of great quality. I thought that the expandable zipper was a neat concept but didn't think that I would notice that much of a difference. I was wrong. It is great to have the option to leave it smaller and just throw in another layer, water bottle, GPS, wallet and cell phone and hit the trail with all your gear hugging your back and not flopping around in empty space in your pack. But when you want to pack extra grub/water/gear it's nice to have the ability to zip open another 5 liters of space.
Highly recommended.
