Lowe Alpine Elite Jacket

Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars
Fabric: eVent 3 layer
Price Paid: $109.90

Overall a pretty good jacket. I wouldn't call it a perfect jacket, but I have never owned a perfect jacket. I have used marmot alpinist, arc teryx theta ar, marmot pinnacle ice (which i returned) and cloudveil snaz (which I returned). This jacket is just as good if not better. The fabric breathes better than Gore-Tex, at least to me it does. It breathes better than the Cloudveil fabric. It seems to be just as waterproof as either fabrics.

The cut of the jacket is fine. The hood needs some work, does not swivel so well. I like the wrist straps, easy to grab even with gloves and they seem to lock down on the wrist, go figure. I wasn't looking to buy a new jacket. But since i don't have one, and at near a 100 bucks, why not. This jacket should serve you as well as any arc'teryx, marmot, north face, mountain hardwear. They all seem fairly comprable to me.

I actually like this jacket better than the Theta AR I use to own. But, it needs some work. The front of the jacket seems to be weighed down. too much going on up front...yep. Well, if you read this I encourage you on getting one. It is cheap and seems to do anything the other jackets will do, maybe more. Once again, it definitely breathes better than gore-tex. eVEnt seems to be a better fabric.
