Summary

Even with the high price this is the only jacket to have. I have used it all winter in Eastern Oregon as well as in the Wind River Ranger and when combined with a wool layering system is waterproof and is the cat's meow for all bad weather at any altitude below 14 or so.

Pros

As with all Mammut products it is strong
Wind and water proof
Comfortable
Built for upper body movement

Cons

Color, need a bright red or orange for Search and Rescue

When combined with a wool sweater I have used this jacket while climbing some local mountains at 10°F, as well as on a snowmobile. It preformed very well and is cut for use of the upper body. I would like to see a bright red color for use climbing and Search and Rescue, but am satisfied with what I have.
