User Review: Marmot Astralplane

Marmot Astralplane
Above: The current Astralplane, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 1 of 5 stars
Design: internal frame---top loading b/c of small zippers
Size: 7000 cubic inches
Number of Pockets: 4
Max. Load Carried: 60 lbs
Height of Owner: 6' 00"

I think Marmot has taken a great Dana Designs name and put it on a pack that is clearly sub-standard. The padding on the back is practically non-existent, the suspension causes most of the weight to rest on equally un-padded shoulder straps. Worst of all, if you are buying a 7000 cubic inches pack, you probably would like to be able to fit your sleeping bag into the bottom. The size of the zipper is ridiculous. I'm sending mine back.
