Marmot Cerro Torre Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars
photo: Marmot Cerro Torre Jacket waterproof jacket

Excellent blend of features, fit, function, and materials.

Pros

  • C-knit fabric
  • Fit
  • Light weight
  • Price point
  • Double zip front

Cons

  • None so far

The jacket uses Gore's 3-layer c-knit fabric, which handles the weather but at a lighter weight and softer "hand," and seems pretty breathable, although I haven't put it fully through its paces yet. I can fit a base layer and another good-sized layer or puffy under it.

Nicely adjustable, including hood. Zippers work smoothly. Has pit zips. Also has something I typically look for but rarely find these days — a double front zipper — so I can adjust the opening and open the jacket from the bottom to access a harness, etc.

Pockets are located to avoid strap interference, and are sized well. The single inside pocket could use an opening for a headphone cord.

Otherwise, the jacket has a nice balance of features, fit, and weight. Recommend.
