Marmot Lightning Jacket

Amazingly light and good protection. Pretty durable and strong. Has done very well in conditions ranging from thunderstorm downpours to an all out blizzard. Outstanding ventilation and has all the nice little features that Marmot quality is about (but could use another small pocket inside). For the $ it's about as good a deal for a non-extended use expedition shell as you can find. A+

Great deal on sale. Great water/wind proofness, great breathability. Very light. A good all around jacket when overkill is not required. Not expedition weight, but I've used it on a number of BP trips, including winter ones, and it seems sturdy enough.
