User Review: Marmot Women's PreCip Jacket
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: don't remember- it was a deal on campmor
It's quite waterproof, even if it doesn't have Gore tex. Thus far it appears to be durable (it's been on about 20 nights worth of backpacking trips). I do recommend it as a cheaper-than-Gore-tex option — good for spring, summer, and fall backpacking trips.
Fit is good — I bought a large so I could fit it over layers, and that was a good choice (I'm 5'7'').
Thus far waterproofing has held up.
I do tend to get a little moisture underneath it, so perhaps it's not as breathable as all that, but I value waterproofing over breathability
I've used it on about 20 nights worth of backpacking trips in the Adirondacks so far, including one in which I was outside in a downpour for 2 hours — I thought I was getting wet, but when I took the jacket off in the lean-to later, I was dry.
