User Review: Marmot Women's PreCip Jacket

Rating: rated 4.5 of 5 stars
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $99

Summary

Great, waterproof jacket. Great for layering. Nice cut and fit.

Pros

  • Effective waterproofing
  • Easy to pack
  • Good fit and cut

Cons

  • Breathability

This is one of the best investments I've ever made. As a nice, thin and waterproof jacket it's perfect for someone who lives in a warm climate but travels to cooler climates. I've been able to wear it in the rare AZ rainstorms and also layer it over longsleeves and a thicker jacket for wind and water protection when cooler.

It was a lifesaver this past summer when hiking in the Grand Canyon and it rained on us most of our descent. I like that it is a longer cut (I'm tall) and cinches well at the arms, hips and around the hood.

Only negative is that — like anything you want to be waterproof — it isn't super breathable.
