The Meindl Vermont Goretex hiking boot is amazingly comfortable. I had virtually no break-in period, and could wear them straight away. They look good, feel great, and give me that great sense of plodding along happily.
If you are prone to ankle sprains, as I am, I would say that there isn't a great deal of ankle support in this boot. However, I like the fact it is light as a result. I also like the fact it is virtually seam-free, which means my feet will stay dry while hiking in sodden Ireland!
