I'm thoroughly impressed with these boots. I've hiked about a hundred miles in them and now trust my feet to them implicitly. On my last trek of fifty miles over steep, sometimes stony and often muddy trails, with several creek crossings and occasional light rain, my feet stayed dry and comfortable the entire time.

After cleaning they look as good as when they came out of the box. They offer ample space for toes (including slippage on descents) and just the right amount of grip around the midsection of the foot. These are my favorite piece of gear, the one item with which I truly cannot find fault.

It seems, however, that Merrell has discontinued this style. (Am I happier not knowing why?) I got my pair at a close-out sale. To anyone who can't find them but is interested in acting on my endorsement, I'd recommend contacting Merrell and inquiring what they've replaced them with in their product line.
