I like Merrell for the fit for me. I bought a pair and wore out the cloth eyelet in a few months. The disappointing part of the boot is that the eyelet rips from normal stress and wear from tightening the laces.
I bought a second pair thinking that it was a defect but I just wore out the second pair the same way after three months. Top eyelet rips and the lace frays on the top hook and becomes "stringy". A bit disappointing as they are comfortable and really keep your feet dry. I wear them for work on tundra and unpaved gravel road areas. I now choose metal or plastic hooks on the lacing system.
Too bad. Great boot, good price, poor lacing system.
Great lightweight boot. Good looking and waterproof.

Great lightweight boot. Good looking and waterproof. Good Vibram sole and extremely comfortable.
Got these on a very good deal and I love them.
Best for hiking in late fall, winter, and early spring. Will keep your feet dry and warm.

Great boot. Hot for summer. Walked all over Ireland right out of the box. They feel like slippers.
Not for heavy duty backpacking.

I have had this pair of Merrell Radius for about a year and a half. I use them extensively on moderate to difficult trails in the mountains of Western North Carolina and North Georgia. They are comfortable, water "proof" and durable. I have had no issues with them, at all.
I am getting ready to buy a low-rise pair and would happily recommend them to my friends. They fit my feet perfectly with no pain, nor fatigue.

VERY comfortable right out of the box. I love that they are so light weight.
However, I cannot recommend these because of the same issues noted by the last reviewer. The leather islet tore after about 3 months of use. Too bad. The bottoms of these shoes hardly show any wear at all, but because of the tear, they are already relegated to cutting grass.

I have used my boots to hike around Mt Rainier and as we all know it rains, rains, rains. I have never had any issues, love them and are very comfortable and keep your feet dry and warm all day. I would buy again!

Use: rough hike with ultralight pack
Break-in Period: 3 weeks
Price Paid: $120
I bought the Radius Mid for hiking on the Appalachian Trail. After hiking up Blood Mountain, and all over GA section of the AT, these boots are fantastic. Their wet-proof design kept my feet dry, and their lightweight construction was well appreciated. The boots perform flawlessly, and are some of the most comfortable boots Ive used to date.
The boots tend to be a tad on the warm side in warmer weather, and are best suited to fall/winter hiking when the weather requires a wet-proof warmer shoe. I also tested the grip of the sole on wet river rock. It seems to grip just fine.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy these boots again.

Use: Fast hiking, short climbing stream running
Break-in Period: none
Price Paid: $95
Excellent for fast grippy wet rock running and light back hiking. Also great for upland hunts and paintball ventures.
Down side would be none if used as recommended. Do not use for heavy pack hikes or steep ascensions as the sole is sneaker-like flexible.
