photo: Minus33 Isolation Midweight Merino Zip-Neck base layer top

The Minus33 Isolation Midweight Merino Zip-Neck makes an excellent base layer top. I typically wear this to bed when camping. It helps keep you nice and warm, and is very comfortable.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Comfortable
  • Keeps me warm

Cons

  • Tears easily
  • Not very durable

This product makes an excellent base layer. It keeps me nice and warm no matter what I’m doing, whether it's camping or working outside. It’s pretty lightweight but does its job very well. Whenever I’m camping in the summer (I sleep in a hammock) I’m usually good with just wearing a t-shirt with this base layer over it. It’s extremely comfortable. It doesn’t irritate my skin or make me itch (my experience with other merino wool apparel).

Like I said, it’s perfect for all kinds of activities, whether it’s camping, working outside, or simply having a good time with friends outdoors. It keeps you warm and comfortable.

The only downside is its durability. As I’ve used this product (I’ve had it for just three years), holes have slowly started appearing after each use. These holes are appearing at the end of the sleeves and the bottom of the product. They are small holes, but are slowly getting larger. Sooner than later I will have to replace it. I wish it was more durable, because other than that it’s a darn good product.

Background

I’ve owned this product for three years and have had a good experience with the item.
