rated 3 of 5 stars

The Comp has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best trail shoes for 2024.

Pros:

-Like all Montrail products, superb build quality.
-Ventilated.
-Multiple eyelets for fitting low volume feet.
-Long wearing, grippy sole.
-Can easily accomodate orthotics.
-Wider than standard boots.
-VENTILATED

Cons:

-LACK OF FOREFOOT CUSHIONING. This is the Comps' only drawback. If you are hard on your feet, be prepared to buy some green spenco insoles to put under the stock insoles--or else suffer some serious foot pain. There is more forefoot padding in your average $5 flip-flop sandal.

Use: around town, SHORT dayhikes, would be great for light backpacking or overnighters if they had some cushioning in them.
