Here's what other sites are saying:

The Masai, by Montrail, is a nimble shoe designed for high mileage and warm temperatures. It is still our lightest and most breathable shoe, but now conforms better to a variety of foot types and provides excellent support. In addition to its proven success on tough trails the Masai has a very smooth and cushioned ride for roads. This gives it versatility as a multi-surface training shoe for road runners, as well as a racing shoe for ultrarunners. The Masai has a unique upper construction that creates a conforming and supportive fit. The upper actually has two independent layers: The outer layer is where the lacing eyelets, webbing bands, and midfoot support panels are attached. The inner layer is seam-free, attached only at the tongue, to provide a smooth and comfortable surface for your foot. The lacing options from the toe to the ankle allow the supple upper materials to conform exactly to the nuances of your feet, spreading the pressure evenly and comfortably. The toe box is wide and roomy, yet the upper can conform and support very narrow and low-volume feet.

Once readily recognized as Montrail's lightest running shoe (this season's Highlander is now the lightest) the Women's Masia trail running shoe still remains a great choice for summer runs and racing events in hot weather. The Women's Masia features a highly breathable nylon mesh fabric along the upper that's backed with durable polyurethane for added abrasion resistance. This was one of the first Montrail women's running shoe designs to introduce a seamless lining design that allows you to comfortably go the distance without wearing socks. If running in the summer heat or in tropical climates is an absolute necessity--this is a great shoe as long as you can keep out of damp streambeds and mud. The mesh exterior filters out large grit and trail debris, but some fine dust may find its way into the Women's Masia during prolonged runs. No matter how far you go, if it's hot outside, the Masia keeps you cooler stride for stride than conventional running shoe designs.
