I didn't use this bag, but my brother did. He and I were together for a couple nights in the North Cascades and he nothing but good things to say. To redeem this bag, after reading the review from back in 1997, I must say that a lot has changed. First of all, the Polarguard 3D insualation is the next best thing to down and is the best synthetic fill out there. The temperature on the first night fell to only about 40 degrees F and my brother was toasty - a little too toasty. (hence the 20 degree rating) The second night the temperature was much closer to freezing (about 35 I'd guess) and he was much more comfortable. A little problem with zipper snag, but a good value for under $140 and stuffs almost as small as a football!

Great bag, I am 6'2" tall and the long fits me just fine, except that I have really broad shoulders so I feel a little more restricted than normal. I took it on a 3 day trip in Early Feb. where nights reached about 25 degrees and it kept me quite cumfy. compresses good and dries fairly fast. I think I am going to give it to my wife and get a Mountain Hardware 2nd Dimension For my 3 Season bouts.

This bag is regularly used from May through October in the North Cascades and on Mt Ranier, Adams and Glacier Peak. I sleep warm, with shorts and T-shirt. The bag works will for me in temperatures down to 30F. With a compression sack it compresses to the size of my big toe :^)

I used the bag on a trip in which the temperatures unexpectedly dropped into the 25-30 range. I am a warm sleeper, wore long underwear, used a tent and thermarest, and I FROZE. I got rid of the bag after the trip.
