User Review: Moonstone Momentum Tech Parka

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Fabric: triple layer gore-tex
Price Paid: $350 (paid $250)

Moonstone is now owned by Esprit. I am hopeful that they won’t lose product ideas like the Momentum Tech Jacket. Based on a very simplistic yet well designed concept this jacket has won me over. It's lightweight (24oz.), simple, has the best inner pocket I’ve ever seen; this pocket is flat yet stretches enough to contain a full size Nalgene water bottle (good for those subfreezing days). The two outside pockets are fully gore-tex reinforced and waterproof (no mesh).

As a matter of fact this jacket contains no mesh, only well sewn and tailored components that are based on a lightweght, simple blueprint. These jackets are not trendy like North Face, Marmot, and soon to be trendsetters Arc’teryx jackets, but they sure are well constructed and designed. I just hope Moonstone sticks with their supposed philosophy of "no extra crap" and doesn't sell out to commercialism. In my opinion the Moonstone Momentum Tech is sufficient for any usage and represents a good balance of quality and functionality.
