User Review: Moss Tents Titan GT

I can't say enough positive things about this tent. I am also very upset that Moss is no longer making backpacking tents. I can't attest to the quality of the MSR versions replacing them. I only know that my Moss tent has been outstanding and it will be a sad day when I finally have to replace it. I have used it for three years in all types of conditions. From winter camping in sub-zero temps to desert camping, to extended backpacking trips, canoe camping, you name it, it's been there.

Many people would complain about the weight, it's around 10 lbs. but in my opinion, the extra weight is worth carrying when you know just how bombproof Moss tents are. It is tight as a drum when set up. I have the GT version with the big clips which make the set up very easy and with three equal length poles there is no confusion. The vestibule is huge and the big windows are great for taking in the view, they also close up when the temps really drop. There is ample space inside for two people with most of your gear, plus the vestibule has lots of space too. On numerous occasions travelling with other groups, my tent has always been the one to remain water tight in torential rains, still standing after gale-force wind, and not collapsed under the weight of a foot of snow. I even set it up in a low spot on a trail and woke up in the morning after it rained all night to find that the whole area was flooded with about three inches of water, but the tent never leaked!

I could go on, but you get the point. Moss tents are bomber and worth the money and extra carry weight. It's a shame you can't get them anymore. I wish I had bought a dozen when I had the chance.
