Midland LXT600VP4 Two-Way Radio

If you don't use a string in the hole, I'd always make sure to keep the device in a zipped pocket/water bottle holder to ensure you don't lose one (they are nice and compact to fit!), but otherwise two thumbs up on the quality and reception and rechargeable batteries! We will be bringing these radios on all of our trips and adventures! We recently brought our LXT600VP4 Two Way Radios on a trip to Mt. Shasta to use while hiking... but it turns out we used them the most where we did not have any cell… Full review

Midland X-TALKER T20X4

Got these just in time for some family hiking trips. With five kids of varying ages and skill levels, we need some comms to keep us all in check and safe. Not to mention, cell phones were no use where we were. Handled great. The range was good, although obviously limited sometimes by distance or rough terrain, trees, etc. I trusted them to kids from 3 on up, and all the radios survived intact. These will be regular part of our packing list for all trips and outings. Not to mention the kids use them… Full review

Midland LXT500VP3 Walkie Talkie

Great for road trips.   I got a set of these, as well as the  X-TALKER T20X4 Walkie Talkie Four Pack. I wasnt sure what would be best for different kinds of camping, or for use by my kids versus by me or by my older parents. I tested these under a variety of conditions, including in varied topography, heavy forest, on roads, and on water. Overall, this radio set is defintiely more powerful, and clearer for a longer range generally. I didn't test them over a distance further than 6 miles, but it… Full review

Midland LXT600VP4 Two-Way Radio

These walkie talkies were so easy to use and the sound was very clear. Suitable for families—adults and children. We bought the Midland XLT600 to use when we are camping and adventuring. I liked that they were simple to use and the sound quality was excellent. In particular, the NOAA weather alert radio with weather scan was very helpful. Often we don't have good wifi or cell service when we are camping and we depended on the weather alert system when the weather was dicey. We found multiple… Full review

Midland X-Talker T51VP4 Walkie Talkie

This product worked great for us because we needed something to assist us when backing up our travel trailer and keep track of our kid. The radios are lightweight, have clear sound (both on handheld and earpieces), and even have a VOX setting or hands-free option. My only issue with these radios is the range. The manual states it has a 28-mile range, but that is not exactly accurate. I tried it in my neighborhood, in convoy while driving, and at our last campsite, and I couldn't get more than a… Full review

Midland X-Talker T51VP4 Walkie Talkie

Great product. Great pair of Walkie Talkies. First off, they are a great size, small and light. Easy to carry or attach to a pack or hip. The learning curve was fairly easy, directions are easy to follow but there are many functions and it can take a while. I had no problem getting them set up and ready to use very quickly. There are plenty of channels to scan through and find a private one for yourself. As far as the range goes, I was not able to achieve 28 miles, but I do live in the mountains… Full review

Midland X-Talker T51VP4 Walkie Talkie

This is a review for the Midland Walkie Talkie XTalker T51VP4. I was given this product as a freebie to review. I am pleased to say this was a great product. This is a review for the Midland Walkie Talkie - XTalker T51VP4 Do you have an uncle, grandpa, husband, brother, or someone who stays out on the lake too long in their boat? We do! So we now have a walkie on the boat and one with the cottage. This allows us to tell them to come home for dinner since they left before breakfast. Even though this… Full review

Midland X-Talker T51VP4 Walkie Talkie

My husband and I are full-time travelers and spend much of our time outdoors; we primarily use walkie talkies for short range transmissions when operating our motorhome. This includes site setup and RV maintenance. Ever since we were growing up our families have always packed a set of walkie talkies for family adventures. These walkie talkies have a potential range of up to 28 miles dependent upon obstacles (hills, mountains, trees, houses and buildings). Optimum conditions are over clear line of… Full review

Motorola Talkabout GMRS /FRS Radio with DPS Option

These radios were great. Used them as a scoutmaster and for broadcast radio service. Now trying to find a couple more. The one I'm looking for has the AA battery back OEM rechargeable battery pack, gray with black top panel, black stock antenna w/o desk charger option. Used them for years on the day job and weekend scout trips. What was great—no computer needed to program them. Got one from a scanner shop in San Carlos, CA, the other at REI. Worked in the radio broadcast field in the SF Bay area… Full review
