Just got the jacket today (April 9th), so I can't comment on the warmth of it yet.

I am pretty confident that the jacket will be warm. So far the quality looks to be exceptional...par for the course with Mtn. Hardwear.

Anyway, I purchased mine online at a reduced closeout price. There are still several out there on the net for attractive prices.

I mainly want to get the word out about the sizing of this jacket. Many people say it is sized smaller than normal. It is actually sized perfectly if you intend on using as a midlayer for winter sports. The jacket is somewhat form-fitting but not tight. I am 5'11" - 6'00" tall and weigh about 175 lbs and purchased a medium. It fits perfect. The sleeves are perfect length and the bottom of the jacket rests just at the top of my belt. And there is no excess jacket material around the mid section.

If you intend on wearing mostly for casual, around the town use; consider going up a size.

This is a lightweight, warm, and comfortable jacket.

I absolutely love this jacket. Hands-down it is one of my favorites that I have ever owned. It doesn't have a ton of "bells and whistles" to it, it is just a simple and warm jacket. I have had it for about a year and a half and it has held up great!

This jacket fits great all around. I typically wear a size large, and this large jacket fits great. It's not too bulky but fits comfortably in the arms and the torso and chest. The cuffs are adjustable and the is an adjustable elastic draw chord around the bottom of the jacket to synch up tight to help keep the draft or any snow out.

Something I love about this jacket is the temperature control. I can be out in the cold weather and be warm and then walk into a building for a while and not even remember that I have it on. Of course after a long period I would begin to get hot indoors, but it regulates temperature quite well.

I have used this jacket in all sorts of conditions and have loved it in just about ever situation I've been in. I have used it sitting for long periods of time around the campsite and used it while being active. I have been comfortable in it in 40 degree weather and in 5 degree weather.

About the only condition that I would not recommend this jacket for is in the rain. It is not waterproof, and therefore would be rendered useless in rainy conditions. When down gets wet it will not keep you warm, because it will not retain its loft. (at least this has been the case in my experience)

I highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a versatile, go-to, warm jacket.
