I bought this tent after much research. I looked at North Face, Sierra Designs, Eureka, Moss and Walrus. I have always been very happy with all my Mountain Hardwear equipment so I thought I would try one of their tents. This tent has a lot of screen area so ventilation is great in 3 seasons. I have only camped in temps down to low 20s in this tent where it was still fine but if temps got lower than teens I would probally want a warmer tent i.e less screen material.
The construction is bomber. Very well designed with lots of nice features like lots of pockets, tension shelf, D shaped door, well designed rain fly and roomy floor space 48sq ft and 12.5 sq ft vestibule. This tent is a palace for two people and and Elvis, my 107 lb yellow lab. I haven't tested it in the rain yet. The floor is cut so the seams don't touch the ground and the fly is hot seam taped (new for '99) so it should hold up well. I expect this tent will cover me in all but heavy snow. I would buy this tent again in a hot minute!!!

I've used this tent for about 10 days in the summer, and it has performed flawlessly. I use it for 2-person camping (with my wife), because I find 2-person tents to be too confining, and it is very roomy. The tent wouldn't be so comfy with 3 people, but would be sufficient. It's a little heavy compared with some other 3-person tents (if you're the type of person who can actually sense a difference of 2-3 ounces), but it's worth it for the high level of quality and the extra room (48 cu. ft).

This tent realy sucks.... the first time I slept in it the shell was leaking. I returned it 4 times to MHW before they sent me some pieces that don't fit well together . Strong wind could easly break it down. This tent does not breath a lot under the freezing point. The windows on the shell do not close so the sun is disturbing in the morning and... you don't see anything in it. Room for 3 is too expensive but it is THE easiest to setup.

Awesome, roomy tent, set up is easy, great for 6-foot plus hikers. Has worked the West Coast kayaking for six years and still looks like new. Also no leaks after a good seam seal and dusting with talcum powder.
