I purchased this pack through REI-Outlet on the web. So far so good. I use it mostly for carrying all my climbing gear to and from the crag. It handles my heavy loads very nicely. The weight is almost completely transfered to my hips and the waist belt is very comfortable despite having very little padding (it is just wide webbing). The fact that the pack opens at the top and the front really makes getting my gear out a lot easier. The only complaints I have are that there are no real compression straps in case I have a smaller load, and the gear loops/daisy chains are not as functional as they look. The webbing on these look like they may break off under any sort of heavy strain. Overall I am pleased with the pack and happy with the price.
