Four guys made the mistake of relying on one water filter for 8 days. The darn thing started clogging up after the second day. After repeated cleaning with the brush provided, the filter disintegrated by the 4th day and we had to resort to boiling water. Of course the MSR burner would also stop working by the 6th day. Luckily we had another burner from a different manufacturer to see us thru the hike. Not sure if I would ever buy another MSR product again. Anybody want a free MSR filter and burner? Slightly used and very dysfunctional.
