Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars

Summary

Very comfortable paddling pants, silky-smooth, with no annoying seams.

Pros

  • Stretchy but retain their shape
  • Nice looking
  • Good in both warm and cool conditions
  • Doesn't ride up

Cons

  • The bottom (ankle) hem is a little loose on me; I would prefer it to be fitted all the way

I love my Hydroskin pants! They wick moisture from the body and dry quickly. I have worn them both in early spring (when the ocean is VERY cold) and throughout the summer, and have noticed that they adapt quite adeptly to a variety of conditions.

I also really like the wide waistband and that they ride a little higher (but not TOO high—not "mom-jeans" high) so they don't ride up when I'm sitting or climbing around on island rocks.

I LOVE these pants and will probably even wear them as a base layer for skiing in the winter!

Here's what other sites are saying:

NRS HydroSkin(R) pants are unmatched in fit and range of motion. They're warm when worn alone, and they stretch to fit comfortably over another thermal layer when it's really cold. High-cut waist with draw cord will prevent ride-down in the back when you are sitting. ThermalPlush(TM) inner lining increases insulation, repels moisture and dries quickly. Titanium adhesive aids in body heat retention. DWR coating causes water to bead and roll off.

- NRS refers to the men's version

Everyone deserves a second skin. And there is none better suited to a wet environment than NRS HydroSkin, which is quickly becoming the hottest thing in comfortable, active-stretch paddling apparel. New technology enables the production of an ultra-thin neoprene (0.5 mm thick or one half the thickness of a dime). NRS combines with a layer of TiCoat insulation for increased warmth.

- Altrec Outdoors refers to the men's version

Designed for action, this lightweight wet pant offers paddlers superb range of motion. Wear it by itself or as part of a layering system for warmth and comfort in any conditions.

- EMS refers to the men's version

For everyone from paddlers to surfers, Hydroskin is the perfect solution for the "in between" days when a full wet suit would be too warm, but you need some extra protection from wind, spray and cold water. Lightweight .5 mm neoprene insulates you from cool air and water, and it stretches for complete freedom of movement. ThermalPlush polyester fleece lining feels good against your skin, so you stay comfortable on longer paddling trips. LYCRA elastane underarm gussets provide outstanding freedom of movement and help prevent chafing. Imported.
