5.11 Tactical Waterproof Taclite 8" Boots

rated 4.5 of 5 stars
photo: 5.11 Tactical Waterproof Taclite 8" Boots hiking boot

Great multi-purpose boot, designed for emergency responders, but great for everything else.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Very light for an 8" boot
  • Waterproof/blood-borne pathogen proof
  • Zonal lacing and side zip means they fit like a glove, but are easy to put on
  • Extremely Comfortable

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Can be warm in hot weather

These may not be your traditional hiking boots, but they'll certainly serve the purpose well! Whether it be hiking, camping, working, bugging out, or for whatever you might need a good, lightweight waterproof boot, this will foot the bill (no pun intended).

I found these to be extremely comfortable as soon as I first put them on (the company actually claims that they have "no break-in time", and they're correct). I've stood in the middle of a creek that was about 6" deep in these and my feet stayed completely dry.

These actually are made for emergency responders since they have a blood-borne pathogen-proof moisture-wicking liner, but I wear them for practically everything I do that doesn't require dress shoes. The side-zip feature means I can have them on or off in a few seconds.

A little pricey, but well made and worth the cost.
