Standing Room 100 Hanging Tent

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

I discovered also the Ozark Trail hanging tent from Walmart is no longer available. However, a new hanging tent is now available!

This "new" tent has several design differences however. This one has a full fabric top. Also, it has two doors front and back allowing easy enter and exit enabling you two "stack" two or more tents together for multi-rooms (great for family camping). It has more pouches on the inside for storage and more ties on the inside and out for hanging towels, clothes etc and places for wind ties.

I took this tent to Big Sur over the 2012 New Year's weekend and set it up for the first time in less than 10 minutes — seriously — the other guys there had never seen anything like it and immediately they all wanted one too! I am sure I can do it faster next time because I know exactly what to do.

We nicknamed it the "Taj Mahal" because it was so big — and it really is! It will change the way you camp. It is also a great beginners tent. No stress!

I am 6'2" and I could not reach the ceiling! How many other camping tents can you say that about?

It is a light material type tent, designed for warmer weather, but the temperature dropped down to 40 degrees two of the three nights and I slept in it on a queen size air mattress with a Mr. Heater propane heater — I NEVER got cold — it was fine (almost hot with the heater on) in this tent every night — it was also pretty windy (20 mph gusts) two of the days, and I NEVER had a problem because we staked it to the ground according to the instructions.

I have hunted and camped for 30 years and I have not been as proud of a purchase such as this in a long time. I have told all of my friends about this tent and they are getting one for themselves as we speak!

Happy Camping!

When we recieved our hanging tent we set it up in the back yard. We were amazed how easy it was to set up. It only took the two of us 5 minutes to do. The tent is very roomy I could stand upright with my hands in the air and not touch the roof. We already had a pop up 10x10 gazebo and the tent fit perfectly.

Pros

  • Incredible amount of room/space
  • Sets up in minutes
  • Two doors easy in/out and allowing you to put two or more together
  • With the canopy roof and the tent roof virtually guarantees no leaks
  • Best/roomiest tent I found for the money

Our new Hanging Room 100 tents came the other day (we ordered two), but we waited till today to put them up on account of dangerously high winds. The company must have read and responded to EVERY complaint they had about their previous manufacturing issues. The zippers are strong and the windows open from the inside.

The fabric is somewhat heavier than our other tents (which is good) and it is very well constructed. All the seams are double sewn and quite sturdy. There are ties for all the window/door flaps, 4 pouches around the walls for your little stuff like glasses etc. fabric loops all around inside at the ceiling (for clothesline?), a center loop for hanging your light (or fan), a velcro closed vent for electric cords and extra flaps on the outer body for extra staking in inclement weather.

I just can't believe how easy it was! I put it up by myself in just under 5 minutes! It took just as long to take it down too, and if you're like me and it rains every time you go camping, there's a real bonus in being under the canopy for take down! We have extra side walls for our canopies and I think this could make late fall/winter camping (extra wind block/insulation) a real possibility as well.

A word of caution to beginners — ALWAYS STAKE YOUR CANOPY!

I'm so happy with this tent, I think I will be camping more than ever now! They also have a Facebook page with all sorts of cool camping ideas too! We found ours on Amazon (just type in Standing Room 100 tent in the search bar)
