From Moosejaw:
"It just made sense for Outdoor Research to design the full-featured Sleeping Bag Cover for those times when your sleeping bag alone is not enough, but a bivy sack is overkill. The WindShear Sleeping Bag Cover prevents condensation in tents or wetness in snow caves from soaking an otherwise unprotected sleeping bag, plus the Hydroseal-200 coated taffeta floor keeps you dry underneath. Likewise, it protects your bag against a heavy dew or mist while sleeping out under the stars next to a river or by the sea. It also keep out the critters and uses no-see-um netting so you can still star gaze if you don't need the full protection of the the WindShear hood. Sleeping pad straps are included.Specifications Avg. weight: 18 oz. /510 g Length: 84 in./215 cm Width at shoulders: 25 in./64 cm Max. shoulder circumference: 67 in./170 cm Width at foot: 21 in./53 cm Max. foot circumference: 55 in./140 cm WindShear fabric shell Water resistant, effective against dew and drizzle Totally windproof Highly vapor permeable Hydroseal-200 coated taffeta floor Extremely waterproof Very durable coating. The coating is unique to OR and remains flexible and intact below -40 degree . Floor material is very important to the performance of any sack as it is the portion that must accept the most abuse from the weight and movement of the occupant. The floor material does not wrap up around the sides in a bathtub configuration, like so many bag covers do, maximizing the amount of vapor permeable fabric and reducing condensation. No-See-Um netting face section High-quality, extremely tight mesh. No-see-ums kept out. Large panel of netting for maximum ventilation. Zipper closure Can be folded inside and snapped in place out of the way when not needed. End-opening zipper This style of opening lets the occupant enclose the face completely or ventilate totally. The opening is longer on one side than the other to make it easy to get in and out. Elastic hood closure Elastic draw-cord runs around the opening of the cover to minimize the movement of warm air out of the opening when not zipped closed. Keeps the cover in place over the hood of the sleeping bag. Internal hood snaps These two snaps hold the no-see-um netting out of the way, on the inside when not in use. External hood snap Holds the WindShear hood away from the face when not needed. If netting is to be the only covering over the head, this snap assures that the WindShear will not slip back over in the night. Sleeping pad straps (patent # 5,941,264) A pair of Velcro straps hold the sleeping pad in place on the floor of the sack. This is important in keeping the pad from slipping onto the WindShear fabric and reducing the overall vapor permeability of the cover. The durability of the Hydroseal floor is greater than that of the WindShear and the pad straps keep each fabric in its proper position. Any sack without these pad straps will allow the occupant to roll over onto the WindShear fabric and possibly damage it against the dir"
