Ibex Meru Hat

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The perfect beanie to wear under a helmet or when you are working hard in the cold. The fact is that, without a hat this day I would have been very hypothermic. I love wearing my Trailspace logo running cap so when Alicia sent me the beanie I was double stoked because now I can rep TS in the cold as well.  My favorite thing on the trail is getting asked, "What is Trailspace?" A very, very wet day on Mount Baker.  I sweat so much that I poured sweat out of my ski boots once I got to camp.  This… Full review

MyPakage Action Series Boxer Brief

rated 4 of 5 stars Stretchy boxer briefs whose primary marketing edge is a specially-shaped and partially separated pouch...but whose real advantage lies in a no-chafe design with great fabric. The pouch feels odd at first; over time, I grew to really like these. They do a nice job wicking moisture and keeping you dry and are particularly good at drying quickly. They appear to be reasonably durable and did not chafe or bind. I would choose these over comparable boxer briefs based on overall comfort and quick-drying… Full review

Berghaus Men's VapourLight Hyper Smock 2.0

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Preliminary review: Not as light as advertised. This is a preliminary review. I'll update it once I've gotten to use it a bit. In the meantime, I thought I'd comment on the weight issue first:  As someone who strives to save weight for backpacking, weight is a primary consideration when shopping for new backpacking gear. Berghaus states a claimed weight of 75g for a men's large on their website and on the product's tag. The men's large the I received weighs 95g without the stuff sack (5g). Irritating. Full review

Dirty Girl Gaiters Gaiter

rated 5 of 5 stars The bomb for keeping trail debris out of your shoes! These are the bomb! I was always struggling to keep the pine needles from working their way into my shoes and stabbing me in the feet and ankles. I didn't want a heavy, hot gaiter and these are none of that. The material is very lightweight and dries quickly when it gets wet. It attaches to the back of your shoe with velcro (provided with your purchase) and then hooks to the front of your shoe laces. It is important to measure your ankle correctly… Full review

Giro Contact

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Giro Contact goggles are recommended for those looking for a pair of goggles that easily adapts to changing light conditions with a push of a button. Great for outdoor winter activities of all kinds in all conditions. I tested the Giro Contact goggles during the winter of 2015 and 2016 in Northern New Hampshire. The winter had a frustrating lack of natural snow, but I was able to test these goggles while skiing on man-made snow at the local resorts.  Fit & Comfort:  The Contact goggles… Full review

Craghoppers NosiLife Convertible Trousers

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Practical lightweight trousers with nine pockets and zip-off legs, and impregnated with insect repellent. Excellent for warm weather hiking and travel. British brand Craghoppers take a practical approach in the design of their clothing and these trousers are no exception. They feature a total of nine pockets—hip, thigh and back pockets plus a zipped security pocket behind the right hip pocket, an extra zipped pocket on the left thigh pocket, and a stretch pocket inside the right thigh pocket… Full review

Bridgedale Men's Bamboo Lo

rated 5 of 5 stars This sock is comfortable and regulates temperature for all day comfort. Durable and does not retain odor. One of my most favorite pairs of socks. I have several pair and am please with how durable they have been over the years. The fabric is soft and does not retain odor like similar all synthetic socks do. Best for everyday wear and with hiking boots in all types of temperatures and weather. My feet stay warm but not too warm and the sock has great cushion when hiking all day with a pack. They… Full review
