SmartWool Midweight Turtleneck

rated 5 of 5 stars Luxurious warmth!!!! WOW!  I could just leave it at that but I will elaborate.  I first bought the smartwool NTS 250 bottoms, which I love, so when I saw this shirt on sale I couldn't resist.  Although both the top and bottoms are NTS 250 the top is much thicker and sooooo soft.  I like staying warm outdoors and this shirt has kept me just that! I wear it all winter and bring it along for all my hiking and camping endeavours in the summer as well.  I usually sleep in it when I'm at higher elevations… Full review

SmartWool Women's NTS Mid 250 Bottom

rated 5 of 5 stars These are without a doubt the best long johns I have ever owned! I am 5'7" 125lbs and I bought the mediums, they fit like a glove (well literally as they are next to skin).  So comfy and non restricting, you barely notice you have them on.  I did a lot of research in my quest for super warm long johns and came to the conclusion that wool was going to be the warmest.  I am not disappointed. The waist band is wider so they don't roll down as some other brands do.  I love being outdoors but don't… Full review

EMS Men's Thunderhead Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars The Thunderhead Jacket is a lightweight, waterproof, and windproof jacket suitable for use in all seasons. The rollaway hood is easily accessible and doesn't fill up with rain if you'd rather wear a rain hat. Exterior pockets are large and easy to access. Long pit zips help ventilate even in warmer weather. I bought my EMS Thunderhead Jacket about a year ago because I needed a lightweight, waterproof and windproof shell for 4-season use. It's completely waterproof, and the pit zips allow for excellent… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Women's Winter Wander Pant

rated 5 of 5 stars My favourite hiking pant! Try them, you won't be disappointed. I found these pants on sale a couple years ago and thought I would give them a try. Wow, sure glad I bought them. I absolutely love them! As they are named 'Winter Wander Pant' don't let that mislead you. Yes, they are great for winter as they are a little thicker than your average pant (as compared to the Marmot scree for ex.) but they are great for all year use when out hiking in the mountains.   As we all know, it's not as warm in… Full review

REI Men's Revelcloud Hoodie Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Awesome all-purpose jacket. Ultra comfort and ultra-utility. I've had this jacket (actually a men's large) for three years now and it's been a dream the whole time. It's kept me warm across a dozen counties, including in the Inland Northwest and Norwegian winter, all while staying still looking almost new. Except the oil stain from where I spilled nearly a cup of mayonnaise off a Zapikanka in Poland :P Makes an awesome pillow once stowed, too! Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Paladin Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars A great, no-nonsense rain shell from OR. Lightweight and truly waterproof. If you're looking for a basic rain layer for outdoor activities, this is a great option. It'll keep you dry during even the strongest rain and is sort of lightweight. However, it won't keep you warm by itself (but is super layering-friendly) and the hood is awkwardly large without a helmet, but still does its job. Also, as this is a climbing-oriented jacket, it's weird there's no pack-up-and-clip-to-harness bag included. Full review

Stoic Merino Comp Shirt - Long Sleeve

rated 4 of 5 stars The Stoic Merino Comp Shirt is a comfortable shirt that wicks moisture extremely well. It keeps you warm or cool as needed. The fabric has the right amount of stretch, and it's machine washable. This has been my go-to shirt for snowshoeing over the past three winters. With a silkweight base layer underneath it and a wind and rain shell on top I'm comfortable snowshoeing in temps around -10°F because my sweat isn't making me cold. Wearing just this shirt while out hiking around a cedar swamp with… Full review
