Columbia OutDry EX Diamond
The Columbia OutDry EX Diamond Shell Jacket is a waterproof shell that does great keeping the rain out but places form over function. I tested the Columbia OutDry EX Diamond shell during the winter and spring of 2016 in the White Mountains Region of New Hampshire. The temperatures were above average and precipitation was more often rain or wet snow than anything else. I had planned on testing this jacket as an alpine touring and skiing jacket but with the low snow levels I ended up mostly using… Full review
5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants
Extremely rugged trousers that are intended for military or paramilitary use but are excellent for hiking although a little on the heavy side. On the Cumbria Way in my Stryke trousers I recently hiked the Cumbria Way, a 73-mile trail in England's Lake District, wearing a pair of Stryke trousers by US brand 5.11 Tactical. As its name indicates, 5.11 makes gear primarily for the military, but I thought that the Strykes would make good hiking trousers and I was not disappointed. I wore the Strykes… Full review
Outdoor Research Men's Mithril Jacket
Very reliable and warm waterproof softshell for cold conditions. Introduction This is a jacket that bridges the gap between softshell and hardshell. In fact this is a taped seamed hardshell with a fleece lining. This makes it either the most versatile jacket you'll ever own or a jacket that you don't know quite what to do with. Fit & Comfort: Fits small. Comfortable with a base layer but cannot layer anything but a base and insulated vest under this jacket. Material is stiff and binds when… Full review
Columbia Featherweight Hike Long Sleeve Shirt
This shirt is a great warm weather performer, providing extra sun protection and bug protection for your arms while remaining cool and dry. With minimal weight and bulk, the thru-hiker can transition from trail to town in style! Construction This Featherweight Hike Long Sleeve Shirt is constructed of 100% antimicrobial treated nylon. It has a UPF rating of 25. The super thin fabric allows this shirt to compact very tightly into a ball the size of a small grapefruit. The feel of the nylon is very… Full review
Patagonia Men's Better Sweater Vest
The Better Sweater Vest is a slimmer fleece-like vest that functions well for both outdoor and casual pursuits. Conditions: In January 2015, I put a call out for recommendations (link to thread) to the Trailspace community for good-quality vests that could pull double duty; warm enough for cold season layering, stylish enough for occasional wear in business casual situations. After looking at many suggestions and weighing prices, I settled on the Patagonia Better Sweater Vest. Fortunately, I found… Full review
REI Adventures Cargo Pants
Great outdoors, not that out of the place in the city. REI must have mannequins of my size because their pants always fit me perfectly. I find them very comfortable. This one is no exception. You will feel comfortable and look good in those pants both on the trail and in the mall. It makes them very versatile for travelling. They have 7 pockets, 3 of them with zippers. One pocket is just a tiny one located inside the right hand pocket. They are very light and dries fast. Obviously not made for winter,… Full review
Great for my mtb gloves. Found it really useful for trail maps! The one for leathers works for all my other gloves btw. I'd just get that one! Full review
