I'm a Soldier in the US Army and recently got sent down to Haiti to assist with relief efforts. So, I went to the store to purchase an air mattress knowing the havoc that cots wreak on my aging body. I got my tent set up and inflated the air mattress to the firmness desired. It was pretty soft in the morning...as expected.
Put a bit more air in it by mouth and left for the workday. Came back to an almost flat mattress. Pulled the fitted sheet off to inspect it and there was a nice tear up where you put the "pillow bump" portion at the seam. Took out the repair kit and repaired as instructed and let it sit a good 18 hours or more with no air to allow drying...slept on the cot. Then, I reinflated the mattress only to have the tear grow even larger..repaired...dried...inflated...ripped some more...I'M DONE WITH IT!! Went through the entire repair kit that comes along with it on a new mattress!!
