Patagonia Capilene Lightweight Bottoms

rated 4.5 of 5 stars
photo: Patagonia Capilene Lightweight Bottoms base layer bottom

Go-to sleeping bottom.

Pros

  • Light
  • Warm

Cons

  • Grid design can rub the wrong way

These are my go-to sleeping bottoms.  They're light enough to wear in the summer, provide a good base layer for the winter, and are more comfortable than laying directly on nylon or whatever. I've never gotten them wet but assume they would dry fast. They fit well, and have a functional fly.

One extra chilly day I hiked most of the morning in them before I noticed the micro grid pattern on the inside was causing chafing. Wouldn't recommend putting miles in with these.

Great sleeping and and extra insulation in camp bottoms, though.
