Patagonia Micro Puff Vest
Fabric: polyester outer and inner
Fill: synthetic micro fiber down fill
Price Paid: $75
This is a great vest. It was really cheap at the Patagonia outlet here in Reno, and I wanted a down vest but I couldn't pass up the deal on this vest.
I use it as a pillow when I climb in my bag and it works great. It folds into itself and zips closed. It compresses to about 2"-3" thick by 6" long by 4" tall. I like vests over jackets personally because they keep my core warm which is all I really ever need (in good weather) and that way I am a lot less encumbered by bulky sleeves. The vest is really warm and works perfectly.
I highly recommend it and it is cheaper than down as well. Tuff to beat.

Shivering is overrated. At belays and bivies, Patagonia's high-loft Micro Puff Vest offers cold-weather sanity through ultralight, compressible core warmth. Its durable, supremely efficient synthetic insulation (100-g PrimaLoft One) traps heat even when wet, and the 100% recycled polyester shell with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish blocks wind and sheds snow. The front zipper is treated with a Deluge DWR and backed by a low-bulk wind flap. Pockets: two handwarmers and one interior zippered chest that doubles as a stuff sack (with a carabiner clip-in loop). Drawcord hem.
