First off, this is a WINTER jacket. If you're wearing this in the rain, you're not using it in the right conditions! Just because it has a hood doesn't make it a 'rain' jacket. This jacket is made for SNOW. The first 2 reviewers of this jacket love it but complain that it 'wets out in rain' and doesn't do well in hard rain...well duh, it's not made for that!

Jacket is identical to the Core Skin but the Mixmaster has a full hood and a slightly longer tail to help seal out snow (if skiing/riding/xc-skiin). The fit is very trim and the arms are also very skinny. This would make a fantastic ice climbing jacket as the arms are cut high and the fit is just right. The hood is helmet-compatible and does a great job of sealing out the wind/elements.

The material is Polartec Powershield, arguably the best soft-shell material on the planet. Has a good fleece lining but isn't super warm. This is a technical jacket made for technical usage. If you're just walking to class and it's 20 degrees outside and you have a t-shirt on, you'll be damn cold. But if you're hucking up a mtn and it's 20 degrees and you have some light poly on, you'll be perfect.

Jacket is 99% windproof and breathes exceptionally well. It's a go-to piece for all my winter activities. (I have the Gamma MX Hoody and I trust the MixMaster more in winter; the MX rarely gets in my pack during winter).

Bottom line: the MixMaster is bomber and excellently crafted for the conditions it serves.
