Rating: rated 4.5 of 5 stars
Source: bought it new

Summary

Very comfortable and warm!

Pros

  • Warm
  • Comfortable
  • Drop-seat convenient for a female to use
  • Durable

Cons

  • Could use a cuff zip
  • Cuff loops need a bungy

This pant has made my ice climbing season the BEST due to being warm and comfortable in our cold Midwest weather. Some complaints noted about the loops being off center for holding the bottom cuff in place to act as a gator.  I rectified this by attaching bungy cord to the loops, this acts a gator and allows for easy knee movement.

This year did not present me with wet climbing but I waterproofed these pants anyway.

- Moosejaw refers to the men's version

Our premier soft-shell pants for the coldest conditions. The Northwalls' exclusive shell-insulation combo fabric bonds the extremely weather-repellent Polartec(R) Power Shield(R) Pro ? waterproof in all but a deluge, but also extremely breathable ? to our toasty Regulator(R) R2(R) grid interior. Sonic-welded seams reinforced with micro-stitching (patent pending) reduce seam bulk and weight while optimizing strength, and the minimalist design features a single zippered thigh pocket and a clean waist that won't interfere with a harness: The separating waistband has a 2-way zippered fly, and the suspenders are configured to allow the upper-thigh side zips to open into a drop seat (no bulky elastic or belt loops). Articulated seat and knees enable mobility, scuff guards protect the lower leg and bottom cuffs have tie-down loops.

It's always colder, windier and darker on the north face. So when you next climb or ski takes you around to the dark side pull on the Patagonia Northwall Pants for all weather protection from the elements.
