From Backcountry.com:
"Wear the versatile Patagonia Men's R1 Flash Pullover either as a heavy base layer or lightweight insulating mid-layer when you exert in cold temps. You'll love the stretchy R1 fabric as well as the stretch panels underneath the arms that move with you as you scramble over scree or schuss down slopes. The breathable R1 fabric wicks sweat away from your body so you don't get that all-over clammy feeling when you pause to have a snack. Pull down the front zipper, offset to prevent chafing your chin, for ventilation when you work hard. Lightweight stretch panels placed at the wrist and hem reduce bulk under gloves or a harness. Although Patagonia made the R1 Flash to have a trim fit, it's roomy enough to go over a light base layer. Stash your ID or energy gel in the zippered chest pocket."
From Patagonia:
"Versatile enough to wear alone in the fall or with layers come winter, our R1? Flash works as a do-everything technical pullover. Its high/low interior grid fabric stretches, breathes, moves moisture, and insulates - on the trail or off the ground. Sized for next-to-skin performance, it's still roomy enough to accommodate a thin baselayer. Low-grid polyester stretch panels under the arms and at the wrist and hem decrease bulk and increase breathability. To further reduce bulk, the elastic cuffs and the brushed-mesh chest pocket (now on the inside) are glued in. Made in USA."
From Altrec Outdoors:
"A versatile, highly breathable base layer (now made with earth-friendly recycled polyester content) for mixed thermal conditions. On the trail or climbing off the deck, this pullover excels as a stand-alone top when the leaves turn or as a midlayer once the snow falls. Its high/low interior grid fabric stretches, breathes, moves moisture and insulates ? and is now more earth-friendly, thanks to the recycled polyester content. Sized for next-to-skin performance, it?s still roomy enough to accommodate a thin baselayer. Low-grid polyester stretch panels under the arms and at the wrist and hem decrease bulk and increase breathability. To further reduce bulk, the brushed-mesh internal chest pocket is welded in. 100% recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program."

Women's R1 Flash Pullover
Reviewed by Michelle, Jul 30, 2007
For myself, the R1 fleece is like a waffle, and if it's cold out you will really feel the cold through the thin parts!
I wear this pullover when I am going to be sweating a lot in spring, fall, or those chilly Alaskan summer days."
