Summary

Good little light, bright and small, but could be brighter.

Pros

  • Good price
  • Small
  • Bright

Cons

  • "Low" is not very bright
  • If left on, no indication

Nice little light, not super bright, but works quite well. Well priced and is not very big so saves space in your pack.

Summary

An excellent headlamp that uses easier to find AAA batteries.

Pros

  • Hands free
  • Uses a common battery size
  • Has both a bright and an energy efficient mode

Cons

  • It seems like the light should have a longer throw

A headlamp is useful when setting up camp as night falls. It is nice to have both hands free. It is also nice to always have the light pointing in the direction that you are looking. It is also important to have light that uses a common battery size.

I did not like trying to finish a hike in the dark with this headlamp. It does not light up far enough down the trail in front of you.

Summary

Not a bad headlamp for the price.

Pros

  • light
  • low price
  • batteries don't deplete while stored

Cons

  • not super bright

I have one of these headlamps and it is not a bad headlamp. I think people who feel it is not bright enough to hike by are a little too demanding. It’s cheap and well made and puts out a lot of light for only having 2 LEDs.

I have other headlamps that are brighter because they have 3 or 4 LED’s or even a 1 watt or 3 watt LED and of course, they are brighter, but not so much that this one looks bad. It’s good around camp or  walking too.

For running or to shine a spotlight on something far away, other lights are better, but then they are more expensive and their batteries will not last as long. This light puts out plenty of light, for example  for reading, at even the lower setting.

I also like that the switch has a positive click when turned on, so it shouldn’t suffer from the battery running down while sitting in a drawer like many of the newer lights. I have a couple lights with the infinite dimming feature and I don’t like how I have to store them without batteries if I want the batteries to have any juice when I need to use it.

I've bought this head lamp about 1 year ago and I've used it a lot but its still full battery! it's light and cheap and very efficient for who dose not need very bright view of distance!

as i'm not very heavy duty mountaineer, i recommend it for beginners and peoples who care about weight and efficiency...
