This has served me well for many years hiking in desert, at national parks, and at the beach. It fits food/gear. I am 5'2" - this pack is a little small but once filled with water it gets heavy so bigger isn't necessarily better.
Will now be buying newer plastic reservoir for better taste coming in '08. Also, the big zipper is hard to close but never has leaked. Platypus is coming out with a tool to help zip. My husband has a much larger Platypus and carries most gear and 3.0 liters of water, so if I run out we can share.
Overall, one of the best purchases we ever made. Perfect for smaller woman or child.
